This is Nádya Writing About Karl

Well, I am not able to translate that for you (Nádya did not want me to use a translator either). So, I guess you are on your own.

Its probably easier to find an English-Portuguese class there than here. Have fun.

  1. I used an online translator to read this (with quite humorous results), but with what they gave me (as choppy as it was) and my knowledge of Spanish, I was able to figure out pretty much what she said! She finds you quirky, eh? :-)

  2. Nadya is my dear sister-in-law and it was a delightful surprise to notice how much she has got into the American culture even before she goes to america!
She has a clinic eye for those little funny things that make us Brazilians and Americans different. I had so much fun reading this that I couldn`t help but translating it into English so that you Americans can learn how odd you can be!! :)
    ------------
Being married with an American and learning more about his culture. Could you imagine you should not take hot chocolate while you have a cold? [Karl told me that!] you know you shouldn`t. But then, you can: take cold water, take a shower anytime, open the fridge, have a hair cut...
Who [in Brazil] would imagine in this life not to take medicine for tapeworms? They [Americans] usually do not. Some even go through all the tests [to determine wether they have worms] (when they have to go to other countries), but that usually is not part of their lives. Well, Karl took the medicine after he got here (freely and spontaneously pressed to do so).
Who [in Brazil] likes tomatoes with seeds? I do not. Karl loves it. I know this changes for every individual, but he doesn`t appreciate when I take the seeds off...
Did you know that if a man whistles at a girl [passing by], she may even call the police? The same thing could do a mother if any stranger would insist on rubbing her child`s head? Did you know that it is highly valued for a woman to stay home taking care of her children while the husband is [out] working?
If you`d like to know anything else...
