It has been a while since I wrote here, mostly because not much has really been going on. Though, on Monday Nádya and I stopped by the Policia Federal to see if my documents were ready. They were not, so keep praying. They said possibly this month, but they were not sure.
We did go on a little excursion last night to a recording studio. It was sort of strange to walk in and see all this gear. Not because I did not expect it, but because electronics are up to four times as expensive here as they are in the States.
Somehow I was coaxed into recording a little something (despite having nothing prepared). It was not the worst recording I have heard, but I would have rather not heard it. The guitar here is one that was in the studio, and not being used to it contributed to my lack of confidence behind the mic. Fortunately the recorded sonic events will probably fade into an abyss of magnetic media.
Nádya's father knows the man who owns and runs the studio somehow (family?), but then, he seems to know almost everyone in Teresina somehow. We had a lot of fun visiting Isaac at his studio, and if you are interested in the more technical side of this trip, I have a post here that goes more in-depth.
