We have arrived in Teresina safely. It was not the same as the trip there. There were no breakdowns, or stalls for police. It was still long (at 24 hours), though.
It turns out that the apartment situation did not work out, unfortunately, but we are still grateful to be back in Teresina. It is much cooler here, and not nearly as dusty, either.
We don't understand why things worked the way they did. It seemed that nothing worked out the way we heard it would. The more time we waited, the more stress we had, and we knew we had some opportunities here in Teresina.
This probably is not the long explanation some were looking for, but I am not sure how to explain everything to myself just yet.
We are, however, looking forward to the possibility of finding a place we can afford. Hopefully that will be soon, but we don't know.

Incidentally, if you are a Google Earth user, Teresina recently got a huge boost in resolution (I just noticed). If you want to see where some of the places are that we have been, or that we frequent, I can send you the files.
