The contributing factors here are home construction/archetechture, and heat (I have mentioned that it is hot here, right?). More than one night I have heard the neighbor snoring—one night Nádya thought it was me! I am accustomed to hearing the men at my church snore once in a while (usually at the men's retreat in the dead of night—but that does not exclude other places and times), but not my neighbors.
It is not just snoring that we hear, either. Basically we hear everything that goes on in the surrounding houses. Flushing toilets, fights, singing—you name it. It gets old. I really try not to listen in to much, but once or twice I have heard them talking about me. That is to interesting not to listen to.
Anyway, last week one of our dear neighbors threw some trash over the wall. It just happened to be at night, after we had closed the house and gone to bed. It also happened to be very attractive for chewing on by one puppy that lives in our yard.
The next morning I found a white-out lid (with a brush) that had been mauled. I don't know if there was ever a bottle in our yard, but our dog—let's just say she was more than a bit under the weather. A trip to the veterinarian (which cost R$45) resolved the problem.
Some neighbors are lame.

In my experience, most neighbors are lame. I don't get it. It seems like people just don't have any consideration for others. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteSeems we used to hear a saying that; "My rights end where your nose begins", or words to that effect... I must agree with Phil, " ... no consideration ... "
ReplyDeleteAlso,, what happened to "Love one another ..."?
